REFLECTION

by Putri Khairiyanti

In this project, we are assigned to create a business as a group. Firstly, we discussed about what is going to be the product of our business. We did not just choose randomly but we went through so many considerations and thoughts about what could we work on as a team. It was not easy because we have two team members who are in a different state and could not join us physically. After so much of thinking and discussing, we finally found the perfect product of our business, which are delicious french crepe and jeruk buah. We then continued distributing tasks and we have always refer to each other and ask everyone's opinion about every little thing that we do for our business. Through this project, I have learned so many things. Not just about running a business but also how to work well in a team. The teamwork that we have in this group is very strong, we have sucessfully avoided misunderstanding as we have always been practicing open communication since our very first meeting regarding our business project.

For MPU3222, I was tasked to sell products with a group of 6 members. When I first started this project, I was hesitant to sell to do so because I am not experienced in selling products. I have never even thought of doing so. However, after managing to experience this short business project, I am pleased to say I am glad I got to do so. Firstly, of course I was grateful to my group members. Without them, this project would I not be able to complete  alone. They are all very active and helpful even though we are all in separate places around Malaysia. Secondly, I got to learn that it is hard to satisfy each customer as everyone have different preference. For example, they may prefer sweet but not too sweet, just the right amount. Another thing I learnt is that it is hard to get engagement on Facebook rather than Instagram. However, I still try my best to keep the Facebook page active as much as the Instagram's. Lastly, I learnt that people who thrived in business, in their early days, must have sacrificed a lot in order to make their business succeed. They may sacrifice some sleep to make a product, especially if it's homemade. In conclusion, I am thankful for this bittersweet experience and I respect all entrepeneur who worked extremely hard for their business.

First of all, I would like to start by saying that this project really helped me to open up my mind about business in the real world. Often, a lot of young people including me like to romanticize the idea of opening a business. I used to imagine about opening a small cafe when I am financially stable. But, now that I have experienced a bit about what it really feels like when starting a business, I started to think to myself that maybe I should think twice before starting a business in the future. This is because, I have learned that opening or starting a business is not something that only needs money. It also needs time, energy, and skills in order for it to run smoothly and grow. Next, I am thankful that I get to meet with the most amazing and hardworking people . Personally, I enjoyed working together with all of my group members. We all think alike and have great chemistry with each other. We shared and exchanged ideas a lot while working together. We all made sure that no one is being left out. Overall, I can say it was a great experience for me. I get to know more about the business world and also get to know a lot of great people. This will be one of the memories I would never forget. That is all from me.

As usual this assignment is just like any other assignments that I have done albeit different since it involves business ideas and actually selling products. It is hard for me to contribute in a lot of things since I am from different state making me unable to participate physically. Nevertheless, I tried my best to support and give out ideas as well as try to get involve with anything online. This course truly opened up a new perspective to what a business should be and how to manage it well since my group decided to sell Crepe and Pickled Mango. It has also been made easier since the group chemistry is really amazing and we can communicate well since we all usually think alike. I learned that it takes more to maintain and create new products for a business to prosper as well as communication being the one of the most important aspect in business world.

For this course, I have learned more information regarding handling a business through online classes and actually creating a business with my group. We first tried to get to know each other and it went very well since we all think alike. Truth be told, it was not as easy for me to be able to contribute and I was a little scared when I was told that we needed to sell products for this assignment. Nevertheless, everything went well through the cooperation between all members. What surprises me is that how difficult it is to actually manage a business when it goes big. We did started small but even so I can see that for a business to run well a good functioning management is needed to ensure everything goes smoothly. I am thankful to have met wonderful groupmates that is active and cheerful which made my learning experience to be better during this course. Overall, business isn't as easy as everyone think. It will take a lot of courage to maintain one for long period of time and even so one need to prepare for any unfortunate incident that might happen.
